This had been what | was trying to avoid when | kept his mother’s visit from him- of course it hadn’t been
because she nicely requested. | knew Axel would be heartbroken at the fact she visited and yet wanted nothing
to do with her own son. For sreason | just can’t understand why he still cared about the bitch.
“I'll inform the patrollers to never let her in; she is no longer a part of this pack.” | assured
him.
“You know what confusesthe most?” Axel questioned. “That she had been visiting all these years, and you
never toldanything about it. | thought we were closer than that.”
“Don’t throw that at me. | was trying to protect you; the woman didn’t want anything to do with you.”
“And yet, you could have told me, just so | would know she is still alive and breathing.”
“You were worried about her?”
“I was worried the previous attacks on their pack claimed her life, but | wasn’t willing to go find out if she
survived, not after the previous confrontation.”
“Axel, why do you even care about this woman? It is obvious she wants nothing to do with you, and she is using
the fact that you care to hurt you even more. Is she really worth it?”
“No, she is not. But Adrain and my mom are still family, despite everything, and... I'd prefer if they stayed alive.”

| knew he was mad. Axel doesn’t easily get angry, but when he does, it was hard for him to let go of his fury.

Axel was right, if we had switched places, he wouldn't have kept it all fromand so | had to

“Pricilla, Axel’s mother visited today.”
“What?” she questioned, surprised; | noticed the worry marks on her face, Axel must have told her about his
mother. | shouldn't be surprised that Axel had told her about it; | knew how he felt about her.
“Why was she here?” Riley questioned.
“She needed financial aid, and Axel kind of walked in on that. She said sreally stupid things, but Axel is
hurting. Maybe because | didnt tell him about her previous visit. | had just been trying to protect him from the
little bitch, or it might also be the fact that he walked in on his mother undressing before me.” | watched her
expression, but she really did get better. at hiding it all in. “I wasn’t going to do anything”
“I know. | know you won't,” she said confidently, and | couldn't help the smile that formed on my lips.
“I want you to talk to him.”
“And why do you think he would listen to me?”
“Because he loves you and he would
